Plate 1: Figure 1: 'Begum Saheb ...' (The tale of the princess Begum Saheb and king Chah-Jehan ... on this plate women are offering a botle with poison.) Figure 2: 'Regiaput ...' (A Brahman nobleman and his wife and their eating and tea drinking habits.) Figure 3: (A Brahman lady orders her female servant to fetch water in 2 bowls. The servant wears the typical pearls in het ears and nose.) Figure 4: (Six Mogul Muslims gather around the Koran that is in the middle of them. 3 Speak verses, the other 3 repeat.)
Plate 2: Figure 5: 'Yxora ...' (The idol Yxora or Vedan / Bed / Beth of the Brahmans, an idol with 4 heads, 4 hands and 2 feet. The hands are typically holding 4 books to teach on law and religion.) Figure 6: 'Parsis...' (Three parsis guarding the fire in the temple.) Figure 7: 'Jougis ...' (Yogi Religion, a sekt of the Brahman's and their servants. They are motionless in the pose they chose. Their belt indicates their rank.) Figure 8: (Two Yogi's.)
Plate 3: Figure 9: 'Jougis, assis sur un tapis avant un Temple...' (A yogi sitting on a rug in front of a temple ... with a peacock.). Figure 10: 'Penitens des Bramins ...' (Brahman penitents ...). Two penitents are preparing food for holy birds like the raven, believed to be the soul of a condemned. Figure 11: 'Penitens des Bramins ...' (Brahman penitents ...) A Penitent sitting on a lion skin under a tree, a holy site, consulted by a woman and her servant. Figure 12: 'Penitente ...' (Penitent ....) Another penitent sitting motionless and not allowed to speak using a sort of cornet to express their needs.
