Antique print titled 'The Tschuktschi and their Habitations'. This engraving shows two Tschuktschi (Chukchi) men from the Chukotski Peninsula in Siberia. Webber drew the original image in August 1778 on James Cook's third Pacific Voyage. Cook described the huts and clothing of the Chukchi in detail in his journal. This print originates from 'A Voyage to the Pacific Ocean Undertaken by the Command of His Majesty (.)' by Cook & King. Engraved by S. Smith after J. Webber. Published 1784.
