Antique print, titled: 'Japansche worstelaars.' - ('Japanese wrestlers').

Two wrestlers cautiously approach each other in the middle of a ring. Two other pairs are wrestling in the bakground, with behind them the spectators. Arnoldus Montanus' "Gedenkwaerdige Gesantschappen der Oost-Indische Maatschappy in 't Vereenigde Nederland aan de Kaisaren van Japan […]. Amsterdam: Jacob Meurs, 1669.

Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Arnoldus Montanus'.

Condition:Very good, given age. Left margin uneven from binding. Top margin faintly browned from age. A small stain in the right margin and a small dampstain in the top right margin. As this is a page from a book, there is text beneath the image and on the rear of the sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
