Antique print, titled: 'Iedo'
A bird's eye view of Edo (or Jeddo, Yedo, now Tokyo) as seen from a nearby hill. 62 places are identified in a list (both in French and Dutch). Arnoldus Montanus' "Gedenkwaerdige Gesantschappen der Oost-Indische Maatschappy in 't Vereenigde Nederland aan de Kaisaren van Japan […]. Amsterdam: Jacob Meurs, 1669.
Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Arnoldus Montanus'.
Condition: Very good, given age. Original folds, as issued. Margins a little browned. A dampstain in the top margin/edge of the image. A small tear in the top edge of one of the folds (closed with acid-free archival tape). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
