Created by Lodovico Guicciardini, an Italian historian and cartographer, the engraving showcases the grandeur of this important trading house, a symbol of the Hanseatic League's power. The print is rich in architectural detail, capturing the lively atmosphere of one of Antwerp's most significant commercial landmarks, with bustling scenes of people and carriages. The building tragically burned down in 1893, making this a precious historical glimpse into a lost piece of Antwerp's heritage.
