Antique print titled 'Pagode et Idoles Du Village De Likiliki; Nouvelle-Irlande'. Pagoda and idols from the village of Likiliki, New Ireland. This print originates from 'Voyage autour du monde exécuté par ordre du roi, sur la corvette de Sa Majesté, La Coquille, pendant les années 1822, 1823, 1824 et 1825 by Louis Isidore Duperrey.
Duperrey (1786-1865) was a French marine hydrographer, and the commander of the 'Coquille' during its voyage (1822-1825) to Chile, Peru, Polynesia, the Molucca Islands (Indonesia), New Ireland (Papua New Guinea) and Australia.
